VISION, SCOPE & CONTEXT

PracNet Vision

We would like for PracNet to grow into a mutually beneficial, vibrant community of practice that supports improvements in health outcomes across the ACT and surrounding NSW areas.

Scope and Context

PracNet focusses on examining the best way to support the general practice workforce to deliver patient-centred, safe, effective, and timely medical care that results in improved health outcomes for their community. PracNet will support projects that use a range of outcome measures to evaluate general practice including: effectiveness of care on patient health outcomes; medical practice audits; attitudes towards health, health systems and care provided; economic evaluations; social network analysis; and advocacy activities related to care provided in general practice. PracNet will engage with the general practice workforce, patients, PHNs, other University’s and other primary care workers (pharmacy and allied health) when appropriate.

Desired Outcomes

  • Improved health of individuals and communities in the ACT and south eastern NSW.

  • A vibrant community of practice in primary care research.

  • Collaborative partnership between general practices, the ANU Medical School, and HealthANSWERS.
