Come and join us and be part of an innovative network of Researchers, GPs, Registrars, Practice Managers, Practice Nurses and Healthcare Professionals who want to be involved in practice-based research. We need you to help deliver quality research that is relevant to practice in our region that can assist you to deliver the best primary care to your patients.

Being involved in the network could present opportunities to conduct activities that qualify for QI PIP and the opportunity to count towards CDP Activities.​

LOW-CARB DIETS IN GENERAL PRACTICE

"Low-carb diets” are gaining the attention of health professionals and the public as a tool to manage overweight, obesity and diabetes. Our GP Registrar, Dr Daniel Mogg, wants to explore GPs’ experiences discussing low-carb diets with patients and to identify the factors that influenced GP decisions to offer low-carb dietary advice as a potential treatment or not. Journey's Around Mental health and Medical services is exploring the lived experience of young people, and their GPs, in navigating ACT mental health services. The project is led by Associate Professor Louise Stone. Recruitment and data collection underway. See the team here.

AFTERHOURS SNAPSHOT

Completed

The Afterhours project was a cross sectional "snapshot" of who and what presented to afterhours services across the ACT, and why patients sought care. This project was led by Professor Kirsty Douglas in 2019. Data has been collected and analysed. Plain language findings and links to publications can be found on our blog.
